Kindle For PC Out; Mac Version Coming Soon

Amazon.com has released a free Kindle application for the PC with a promise to release a Mac version soon. For those who aren’t familiar with the Kindle, it started out as an electronic book reader about the same size as a large novel. It has a crisp easy to read black and white display and can download books from Amazon’s Kindle store. The PC version allows you to read books from the Kindle store on your PC and, if you have one, also sync with your Kindle.

Nokia N900 Starts Shipping; iPhone Killer?

The wait is almost over, the possible iPhone killer from Nokia has started shipping and will be available to buy over the counter in just a few days. The N900 uses the Linux based Maemo 5 software which is great news for application developers as everything is open, it is proven technology and it is fast. Did you Buy a Nokia Phone in the Last 6 Months? You Might Need a New Charger

Nokia has issued a warning to all customers who bought a new Nokia mobile phone or a replacement charger in the last six months. The covers of certain third party chargers can come off and there is the danger of electrical shock. While Nokia isn’t aware of any actual incidents, as a precautionary measure, they will exchange affected chargers free-of-charge.

The Great Gadget Divide; Men Don’t Read The Instructions, Women Do!

The Gadget Helpline, a telephone help desk for those with gadget problems, surveyed 75,000 calls received between 25 September and 23 October 2009 to find out how men and women handle gadget problems. The biggest thing (and probably the most obvious but it is good to have the statistics) is that more women read the instructions for their gadgets, devices and appliances than men.
