According to Xbox UK’s official Facebook page from Friday, November 26 at 12:00am to November 28 at 11:30pm “all Xbox LIVE Free members get a free Gold upgrade all weekend…” Plus there are also a bunch of competitions.
So if you're reading this and you're not thinking 'Yes, I already know about the free weekend,' then get your console online ASAP because you've already missed a day!

I was really looking forward to this as with having young kids i dont find the time to play so much so id arranged for mother to take them out for the day so I could take advantage. Turned on xbox this morning and go to live, “this service is temporarily unavailable, please try again later”.
