The BBC’s version of its popular PC component ‘iPlayer’ which allows people to watch their favourite shows at their own pleasure, has been added to the Nintendo Wii!
Putting the PS3 and Xbox 360 to shame, Nintendo and the Beeb have been able to work together to make this a successful transition because the clever people at Nintendo Wii already had the flash player present in it software making it compatible for the iPlayer.
The option of being able to watch iPlayer content on a TV rather than a PC or mobile device does not come free of charge, unless you bought the Wii console when it was first launched. It will cost the Wii owner around £3.60 to install the Internet channel, that’s only if it is not already present on their system. The owner will then have to simply head to the BBC iPlayer website to watch all of the BBC content at their leisure.
I know I’ll be installing and be watching Dr. Who, again… and again.. and again :-), but what do you think about it all? Have you installed the BBC iPlayer on your Wii yet? Let us know what you think here or feel free to register on our forum and discuss it with other Wii enthusiasts.
