Very quickly, we had a response to the post from the CEO of Carbonite David Friend, who stated that there had been a problem with the firmware on the Promise servers they were using. Although it had effected some users, it certainly was not the calamity it had been made out to be, and he had phoned those people effected individually to apologize.
