Freeline Skates: The New Heelys?

Did you ever feel slightly cheated because little kids could zip past you on Heelys while you’re still doing that boring old walking thing? I know I did- unfortunately I never found a pair in size 7 and I nearly killed myself using the cheaper half skates that fit on the back of your trainers. Especially embarrassing when the very next day the five year old girl across the road was zipping down the hill on a pair like a pro. Mine quickly got sent to the charity shop and I gave up my dreams, but I know there’re others out there still waiting for their chance to shine.

Well take heed: Freeline Skates are here and there’s no way that little kids will be beating you on these bad boys. Developed in San Francisco, they’re supposedly a cross between skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding.

The only chair to take over the world in

Ok, so you want to take over the world. Got your dumb henchmen? Check. Beautiful female assistant? Check. Slow moving death traps? Double check. How about your evil world ruler chair?

There’s always something missing isn’t there? If you’re going to intimidate secret agents the first thing you need is an impressive chair. And a fluffy white cat (although I’m sure said fluffy white cat would get hair all over afore mentioned impressive chair thus ruining the vision? Maybe that’s why Dr Evil had hairless sphinx cat.)

T-Equaliser. What the Terminator would wear if he were cool enough.

How do you improve on the classic t-shirt? It's the question fashion savvy have been asking for years. Weird designs? New colours? So many holes that there is very little actual t-shirt left?

How about an electro luminescence panel across the front that reacts to whatever music you're playing while wearing it? Welcome to the catwalk- the T-Equiliser Music T-shirt.

Budclicks and Emotibles: Personalise your earphones

Walk down any busy street and one of the things you're going to notice is the sheer amount of people ignoring social interaction in favour of listening to music on their ipod or MP3 player. The classic white earphones of the ipod stand out a mile away, and brightly coloured gumy earphones are not far behind in the recognizable stakes.

So how do you stand out amongst the crowd and get yourself seen? How about a pair of Budclicks? Or show the world how you're feeling with a pair of Emotibles.

Air Guitar Hero- if World Tour just wasn't enough for you.

No longer does your air guitaring have to be silent. The Guitar Hero Air Guitar Rocker uses three components- a mini amp which clips on to your belt; a belt buckle with motion sensor; and the essential plectrum (two, in case you lose one)- and from these creates rock. All you have to do is make sure you strum along to the song in time, and it'll sound as if you're actually playing something. It might be badly, but damn it- you'll still be there, rocking it out for the world to see.

Review: The Sound Asleep Pillow

The Sound Asleep Pillow is designed as a new way to cut down on the issues of falling asleep listening to music on your MP3 player or ipod. No more wires, and less chance of ear infections from dirty headphones.

You may remember Jen mentioning this gadget a bit back. Well, I recently got my hands on the Sound Asleep Pillow and here’re the results. As a bit of an insomniac I hoped for great things from this gadget. And I wasn’t too disapointed…

Ray Gun Channel Changer- because secretly you’ve always wanted to be George Jetson

Back in the days before reality TV seemed to dominate every second of every day, TV showed some fantastic programmes: proper comedy, interesting documentaries, and more sci-fi than you could shake a stick at. By the year 2000 we were meant to be living on the Moon, walking our dogs in zero gravity and shooting aliens left right and centre. Well, a quick look outside shows that while the ground is white, it’s because we’re having the heaviest snow fall in six years, and the only aliens in my house are whats growing on my pots and pans. I don’t even have a dog, space helmeted or not.

If you too hoped things would be different in the millennium, then join me in admiring the Ray Gun Channel Changer.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
