LG has officially confirmed that it will be releasing a 12-megapixel camera phone before the year’s out.
We’d heard that it was on its way but it’s always good to get official confirmation from those in charge.
Few details available for the device yet, save for that giant snapper, but it has now been confirmed for release on the happy side of Christmas.
Just how early on the happy side of Christmas we’re not sure, but with the Sony Ericsson Idou already having been premiered at MWC this year and set for arrival in October, we’re thinking that sooner would be better than later.
There is of course some question over whether we need 12-megapixels in our phones and the implications such as increased memory usage and difficulty/inability to send.
We’ll bring you any more official updates on the 12-megapixel arms race as we get them.

Ooh just in time for my contract ending if its Christmas. Mind you, it’ll probably only come out on the hugely expensive contracts won’t it?
I like having a decent phone on my camera- saves carrying round two gadgets!
