Doctor! I need a cute but probably highly useless concept gadget- STAT!
Ah the Dr Hard Drive Bag- just what the doctor ordered.
Ok, enough of the crap medical gags. What you’re looking at is a concept gadget for when your hard drive catches swine flu (or the electronic variation 5w1n3 f1u) and dies, loosing all your precious files along with it. Wheel in Dr Hard Drive Bag (we can only hope they come up with a better name if it does find itself mass produced) and plug it in to your USB port. An anti virus program will pop up, and you can check for corrupted files. A handy feedback light is built into the IV bag too, so you can see how close to feeling all better again your computer is.
‘This object, which has a circuit of hard drive, is truly working as a tangible virus vaccine by applying the metaphor of IV drip bag. When you plug it into your laptop, the vaccine software can be turned up in the screen and operate system. Also, the light for feedback in the IV drip bag turns on while using it’ says designer Hyuh Jin Lee.
Ok, so when your computer has a built in virus scanner, plus whatever firewalls and extra add ons you no doubt have installed, this does seem a little pointless. But regular readers will know that I just can’t ignore anything cute, and a mini drip stand and IV bag for your computer wasn’t going to be passed up. Maybe it could just be adapted to simply an external hard drive, so you can double save any important files, secure in the knowledge that you can get your work back in the event of a system failure? Either way, it can join the host of pointless but cute USB gadgets out there happy in its aesthetic value.
Would you use such a kitch gadget? Got a better way of spelling swine flu with numbers? Tell me in the comments

I totally love pointless gadgets :p, by any chance do you know the official name of this one?
As far as I can tell Dr Hard Drive Bag is the official name- its what the designer refers to it as on their portfolio site.
Its hard to tell with concept gadgets. I’m sure if it ever did get released then they’d have a much snappier name made up.
