I’m incredibly snap happy with my phone. The camera is the main thing I look for when I get an upgrade, and boy do I get my use out of it. But more often than not the photos stay on my phone for months before I get round to taking them off and sorting through them on my computer, and then finally uploading them to Facebook and anywhere else I want to share them. Its such a faf going through all the different stages.
So I think Vufone would be a rather handy little service. It launched yesterday in the UK and essentially has three main features- Share, Synchronise and Back Up.
Share allows you to upload your photos and videos to a central album, which you can share with friends, and then from there you can also upload to Facebook, Flickr and Picasa, with plans to add Twitter and YouTube in the near future.
Synchronise means you can access your phone’s calender and update it with events on your Microsoft Outlook or Google Calander, so you’ll never have an excuse for missing an important meeting ever again.
Back Up enables you to save valuable content, such as important text messages, calenders, photos, videos and Smartphone documents so that if you’re a regular phone loser (The Gaj-it staff probably the contains one or two!) you don’t have to worry about losing everything along with your handset. You can also DELETE this content from the web, so there’s no worry of anyone finding those incriminating pictures…
Further to all that there’s a MyPersona feature which lets you up/download music to/from your phone; choose a profile picture to appear on your mates phone when you call: send cheap texts and forward images to your friends phones for free, eliminating the need for overpriced MMS messages.
Vufone is supported by all major handset suppliers, such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola, LG and Blackberry (but not the iPhone that’s expected to come soon) and costs £9.99 for a full years subscription. Not a bad price if you have a lot of stuff to share, a lots of stuff to remember and you’re the person who is always making the ‘lost my phone’ groups on Facebook! Although there are a few free back up sites out there which do similar stuff if paying is something you’re not willing to do.
More information and a five day free trial is available at the Vufone website. (The price is given in dollars, but the service is available worldwide once you click on the register link. Make sure to check your mobile is supported first though!)

I have been looking for something like this for a long time! Would have been really useful last month when I accidentally took my phone for a swim in the ocean with me. Lost lots of photos that weren’t anywhere else! I’m definitely gonna try this one…
