Have you ever looked around you bathroom and decided there was something missing? Something integral to your daily life? Did you then perhaps go to wash your hands and think that it’d be so much easier for you if your ideal temperature was preset along with the flow you prefer? And if only you could check your emails while you were being hygenic, how much better would that make your life? How much more fulfilled you would be.Ok, so I have to admit that its not something I’ve ever considered either. Usually I don’t get much past ‘I need more shampoo’, never mind the desire for taps that know how I like my water. But if it is something that sounds pretty nifty to you, then you’ll be wowed by these taps by iHouse, The Innovative House company. They’ve been designed for FEICON, a construction show in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Using facial screening technology, the Smartfaucet recognises the user and adjusts the water settings accordingly, allowing you to choose how hot you want it and fast you want it to come out. Then on top of that, there’s a touch screen attached to the top of the tap which lets you check your emails, your calander, or even the temperature of the weather outside. Evidently its designed for people with lots of money and very little time, who need to have all their information available NOW. I do wonder how you’re expected to opperate a touch screen while washing your hands though…
The Smartfaucet seems to be the newest addition to an enitre iHouse, where everything is controlled by your mobile phone, from the doors, to the garage, right down to the bath and the taps. Looks like something out of The Jetsons, and certainly makes me jealous! Unfortunalty they do only seem to exist in Brazil and the FAQ of the website is in Portugese, but have a look anyway and dream of what you might one day own. It is really great invention if I want to bath according to my water temperature then I can set the temp and if I want to check the weather this facility is also available
