The PoGo Instant Mobile Printer by Polaroid is perfect if you're anything like me; always on the go, love taking and sharing photos, and hate having to upload everything to a PC!
The PoGo prints 2×3" borderless colour images in around 60 seconds. It's pocket-sized, portable and comes in a sleek and stylish design. No computer connection is required and you can print directly from your mobile phone or digital camera. And here's the magic - it uses no ink. (Yes really!)
From a mobile phone, using a Bluetooth connection, you can connect wirelessly to the PoGo printer. Or, from a digital camera (PictBridge enabled) connect to the printer via a USB cable. Follow the PictBridge directions on the camera screen and select your image for printing. From either your mobile or camera, in just under one minute, your selected photo will be printed in full colour, dry to touch and ready to share.
So, what about this no ink nonsense? Well it's all thanks to ZINK Technology by ZINK Imaging. ZINK stands for Zero Ink and provides a fresh new way of printing your photos, without the need for purchasing new ink cartridges.
Here's the science behind the magic. The ZINK-enabled printer, together with the ZINK paper, work in unison to provide you with colourful and durable prints. The ZINK paper is embedded with 100 billion cyan, magenta and yellow dye crystals. In 30 seconds, 200 million heat pulses pass over the crystals, activating and colourizing them.
(For more information on ZINK Technology, visit www.ZINK.com)
The images are smudge-proof, water-resistant, tear-proof and fade-proof so make for long lasting photos. Even better, the paper has a sticky backing so you can bombard any surface with a mass of photos - no need for blu-tack!
The PoGo printer uses a lithium-ion battery and this will need re-charging after printing around 15 images. (AC mains adapter included).
Not all mobile phones are compatible with the Polaroid PoGo just yet. So tTo check if your mobile is compatible, visit Polaroid's Compatibility Tool.
To pick up a PoGo, it's going to cost you £100 and the ZINK paper costs £3 for 10 sheets. Shop for it at: Dixons Tax Free, Currys Digital, PC World, John Lewis, Amazon and Play.com.
