Even beach balls can’t escape the tech upgrade this summer

aqua sounder ballI’m taking a stand and rebelling against the cold. I’m going to wear my skirts. I’m going to find my sunglasses. And I’m going to find a pool to lounge about besides in the hope that my pasty white skin might acquire a goddess tan (it never has done before, but there’s a first time for everything).

What’s got me feeling this way? Well, I was linked to the Aqua Sounder Ball, a concept gadget from Grace  designed to give summer fun time its very own sound track. The Aqua Sounder Ball comes in two parts: A fully water proof ball with built in speakers and controls, plus mood lights built in; and a wireless iPod or MP3 player dock to transmit your music from. So the Aqua Sounder Ball floats around with you, and effortlessly sets the mood by wirelessly acquiring your playlists.

Imagine the fun you can have. Get yourself to the local pool and have a party, complete with appropriate par-tay music. Or go to the beach and you can splash around in the surf singing along to the Spice Girls or scaring your mates silly with the Jaws theme tune. As day fades to night, you can bring the mood down a little too, providing that the currents haven’t stolen your Speaker Ball of course. You could even take the Aqua Sounder Ball while you sneak off to skinny dip with that special someone, kicking out some good old Barry White. Well a girl can dream anyway…

The Aqua Sounder claims to be fully submersible, so you can even listen to your tunes under water, although I’m pretty sure it hasn’t quite got the technology to stop it sounding like screaming mermaids as opposed to real words, so that may be the source getting a little over enthusiastic. Either way, it’d be a pretty cool gadget to have for the summer. If the summer ever arrives…

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
