HTC Snap readying itself for market

A new HTC handset known as the Snap has been announced at this years CTIA Wireless event in the States

This newest HTC device will come toting WinMo 6.1 (booo!), a lowly 2-megapixel snapper and a sweet looking QWERTY keyboard to make hammering out those important office emails all the less time consuming.

Crammed under the shell of the 12mm handset you’ll find WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and A-GPS delights to keep you connected and on the right track. Connectivity-wise the UK version of the Snap will come pumping high speed 900/2100 3G options if WiFi isn’t always an option.htc_snap_270x215

One of the much-taunted features of the upcoming HTC devices is the new ‘Inner Circle’. Simply put, the ‘Inner Circle’ will prioritise any communication from contacts that you specify – be it friends, family or business colleagues. No one likes sifting through reams of emails everyday just to read the handful that they actually want to read and with this new feature every message that you receive from a designated member of the ‘Inner Circle’ will be filtered to always be at the top of the inbox.

The Snap has been slated with a release date in Q2 2009, so that should be the non-specific anytime before July then answer that we hadn’t been hoping for, then again, at least it’s due this quarter.

We expect to hear a lot more from the business-class Snap over the coming weeks and months so stay tuned to our mobile coverage to hear any of the breaking news as we get it.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
