The latest e-series editions are the Nokia E55 and E75 smartphones. And according to Nokia, they are optimised for efficiency.
“Efficiency is about doing more with less and focusing on what’s truly essential,” says Kai Oistamo, Executive Vice President at Nokia. “With direct access to Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes, companies can potentially save up to a third of their operating costs as there’s no need for middleware or additional servers.”
Nokia promise a full desktop email experience without the need for a PC. The E55 and E75 are the first to ship with Nokia's new email user interface. The enhanced UI features folder and HTML email support, expandable views and sorting capability by date, sender and size. Also included are contacts, task management and improved calendar capability.
The E55 features a compact QWERTY keyboard and is branded by Nokia as 'the world's most compact messaging device.' The E75 features a full slide out QWERTY keyboard, plus a traditional keypad.
Both devices come with Nokia messaging, full Nokia Maps, assisted GPS and N-Gage gaming. And the E75 features the Ovi Files service, allowing important files stored on a PC to be remotely managed and shared directly from the handset.
The Nokia E75 is due for release in March with an ERP of 375EUR. The E55 is due for release in the Q2, with an ERP of 265EUR.
