DIY iPhone Accessories: The iPhone Stand

It’s now official- the UK is in recession and we’re all being more careful with our money. But what if we want to enhance our experience of gadgets that we’ve already bought on credit?

Here are some DIY ideas that will allow you to watch a movie on your iPhone handsfree. That’s right, you WON’T need to stand there any longer with your arm outstretched as you laugh along to Top Gear. You don’t need to be MacGyver to do any of these, all you need are a few bits from your surrounding office desk.geekygadgets

The first idea we have is my personal favourite as it bears semblance to my past love of Meccano. The guys over at Geeky Gadgets have found that by securing four pencils with rubber bands, you can end up with a novel stand that’s the perfect size for your iPhone. Tres chic.

Another idea for getting your iPhone on the horizontal cheaply is to use the lowest denomination note of your particular country. There’s an instructional video of a USD$1 iPhone stand from the guys at Internet Saio.

All in all, just because you don’t have the cash, doesn’t mean you need to suffer from a sore arm.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
