Apple is known for its exquisitely designed products and the man behind those beautiful designs has now added one more feather to his cap. Jonathan Ive, head of design with Apple, has been awarded a knighthood. Jonathan Ive was earlier granted Commander of the British Empire title in e005. The award has been given to recognize his contribution to the field of enterprise and design. Jonathan Ive is the brain behind the designs of iconic products such as iPhone, iPod and iPad.
Talking about his new accomplishment, Jonathan Ive said, "To be recognised with this honour is absolutely thrilling and I am both humbled and sincerely grateful.” He also said that from very early age he had realized that he was interested in designing. He added, "I am keenly aware that I benefit from a wonderful tradition in the UK of designing and making."
Ive also credited Apple for helping him fine-tune his design skills. He said, "I feel enormously fortunate that I continue to be able to design and make products with a truly remarkable group of people here at Apple.” He said that he is "both humbled and sincerely grateful" for the honor. Mr. Ive will now be known as Sir Jonathan Ive.
