Best Buy Shuts Down UK Business: Holds Fire Sale

Best Buy is bidding adieu to UK and while it is closing down its British stores and website, it is holding a liquidation sale of its stock. So, what does that mean to you? Oh, it means that you can avail up to 50 percent discount on some goodies you always wanted to buy.

Best Buy UK was started in 2010, but unfortunately, it never did well. The company was collaborating with Carphone Warehouse for this venture. Best Buy eventually pulled the plug on the venture stating, "However, as you may know, based upon the outcome of our employee consultation, we intend to cease retail trading at our Best Buy UK branded stores & website by the 15th January 2012."

So, while we mourn the departure of electronics retailer, let's treat ourselves to some yummy discounts. Most of the stuff is being disposed of at 10 to e0 percent discount, while some CDs and DVDs are coming at 50 percent discount. The site and stores will be opertional till 15th January, 2012, so you still have about a month and a half for scouring the deals.

Best Buy currently has 11 stores operational in the UK and are scattered across Bristol, Croydon, Derby and Liverpool. Unfortunately, these stores got to remain operational for only a short time.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
