Loc8tor: Finds your lost items faster than your spouse can

One of the worst feelings in the world is not being able to find your wallet or house keys; well that and perhaps drowning. On the lost items front though, there is a new gadget we’ve come across which will become indispensable for the scatter brained, or as I like to say, people whose minds are on a higher plane…

The Loc8tor will find your keys, wallet, remote control, salami sandwich etc, just by the touch of a button. This easy-to-use device comes with two tags and a credit card sized locating pad.

The tags need to be attached to the items you intend to lose (or the ones that your other half just knows you will) and then you’re set to be as absent minded as you like. While there are only two tags included, you can purchase extra ones as the locating pad can detect up to four different items.

To use, simply press the correct button for your misplaced item and fell the search stress melt away. The Loc8tor will beep and flash to let you know that it is locating the tag. When a tag is detected the audio will start and the locating lights will light up- sounds like Christmas every day!

As you move the right direction, the pitch and frequency of beeps will increase to let you know you’re on the right track, like a sniffer dog getting excited. The lights on the Loc8tor will also move from red to amber to green to confirm you’re on the right path.

The device’s range varies depending on walls and obstructions, but there is approximately a 122metre/400ft reach. The Loc8tor is so good that it will apparently guide you to within 1 inch of your lost item.

  • Has anyone tried this out?

It seems like a great idea, but does it work as advertised?

  • I’ve not tried it personally, but there are some testimonials on the Loc8tor website? Obviously from this source, these will be biased to be good, but they’re still from ordinary people who have tried it out:

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
