Facebook may Launch Project Spartan and iPad App Next Week

We all have heard about Facebook's super secret Project Spartan and it looks like the details of the project have leaked, yet again. Project Spartan is related to Facebook's HTML5 app endeavor and the latest rumors suggest that the project is now ripe for launch. Some reports are even suggesting that the project may be launched as early as next week.

It is also being rumored that Facebook may eventually launch its iPad app during next week's Apple 'let's talk' event. However, Facebook may just decide to hold its own event for unveiling both Project Spartan and iPad app. Both iPad Facebook app and Project Spartan are long overdue and there had been quite a few false alarms about the debut of these products.

According to some reports, Apple has collaborated with Facebook for Project Spartan, which is not surprising as Apple had always been one of the biggest backers for HTML5. The launch of Project Spartan is likely to be yet another nail in Flash's coffin, which is getting dumped by all and sundry. The latest tech behemoth to turn its back on Flash is Microsoft, which would be greatly reducing its dependency on Flash with its Windows 8 platform.

Facebook is currently undergoing massive makeover. Most of these actions have been taken in response to the threat posed by Google's latest social venture, Google+. The new networking site was opened to general public last week and it already has crossed crucial 50 million subscriber threshold. Facebook is now also collaborating with Spotify and Netflix for streaming their content to its users.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
