Now, that we have got almost confirmed date for the arrival of Ice Cream Sandwich, the immediate question that comes to mind is What Next? Well, fret no more, according to good people at ThisIsMyNext, Google has decided to name its next iteration of Android Operating System ‘Jelly Bean’, thus keeping up the tradition of gourmet alphabetical order.
Though, keep in mind, it’s merely a conjecture and Google may eventually decide to give the newest version a radically different name. After all, ‘F’ was supposed to bring us some Flan, but it turned out to be a Froyo. It is also not clear whether Jelly Bean would be minor update or major, though the inside sources have claimed that the version will bring about “game changing stuff”. Well, this is one claim we get to hear way too often!
However, ThisIsMyNext has also brought some bad news. Apparently, some of the major changes to be incorporated in Ice Cream Sandwich are now being pushed back and would make an appearance with Jelly Bean version. However, Ice Cream Sandwich would still be bringing up some major changes including Tablet, Phone and TV integration. Hopefully, it will also bring that ‘major UI overhaul’ which we were promised with Honeycomb. According to Eric Schmidt, Ice Cream Sandwich is all set to make its debut later this year. In all likelihood, we will get the taste of Ice Cream Sandwich in late October or early November this year. Google’s Nexus Prime is likely to be the flagship Ice cream sandwich device and it has been produced in collaboration with Samsung.
