Samsung Galaxy S2 was destined to be a popular phone and it did meet the expectations. According to Samsung, it sells a Galaxy S II phone every 1.5 seconds and it crossed the 5 million threshold within 85 days of its launch. What's more impressive is that it is notching up the numbers at higher pace than ever. The phone took 24 days to score its first million and then only 18 more days to sell another million. From there on, it sold 1 million more phones in mere 13 days.
These numbers are bound to get more interesting now, that the phone has also been launched in the US. Samsung is collaborating with Sprint and T-Mobile for the launch of this phone. The phone would be available from mid September. The phone has been dubbed as iPhone killer and its recent sale stats in Asia and Europe show that the claim is not much exaggerated. Apple is scheduled to unveil its new generation iPhone some time in September or October. The Cupertino company has not provided any concrete launch date.
Samsung Galaxy S II is packed with advanced features such as Voice Talk, which lets user operate their phones via voice commands. It also supports third party clients such as Fring, Tango and Skype. It also allows advanced touch screen gestures, thanks to its accelerometer, gyroscope and six axis motion sensing. S II also features Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen and runs on Android Gingerbread version.
