Now that Steve Jobs has resigned and the responsibility of keeping Apple in its enviable position lies squarely on Cook's shoulders, we are relieved to say that the change of guard does not indicate any change in the company's policy. Apple is still busy innovating and bringing out new shiny gadgets and probably the next gadget out of the House of Apple would be an HDTV.

According to Venturebeat, several industry experts are claiming to have inside scoop that Apple is indeed working on its TV project. The television would also be an iOS device just like iPhone and iPad, but would be available on a much bigger screen.  However, Gene Munster, who is responsible for generating quite a few Apple rumors, has claimed that the TV is unlikely to be unveiled this year, and that the project may take another year or more to culminate.

Both Google and Apple have been trying hard to conquer TV space, but do not seem to be getting anywhere. Google recently announced that it would start developing Android apps for its Google TV and on the heels of this announcement, came yet another statement that the Google TV would be heading to the UK and Europe early next year.

Back to rumored Apple TV, it is also being claimed that the new and improved Apple TV would be able to support iTunes and iCloud. And what more, it is likely to be an actual HDTV set and not merely a box which would go with your existing TV.
