It's that time of the year again, when T3 release their nominations for the T3 awards. You can head over to their website now and vote for your chance to big up your favourite gadgets and also possibly when a new tele. I just voted and here's a little rundown of some of my choices and a little bit about why I choose them.
Innovation of the year- 3DS
It had to be didn't it? Even if its success was dubious it was certainly the most innovative piece of tech; changing the way we can experience 3D. With the new addition of apps such as Netflix the 3DS could continue to wow consumers for the next few years. It's not only revolutionised 3D, but portable gaming too.
Gaming Gadget- Kinect
Rather than lazily giving the 3DS another vote, Kinect gets the gaming gadget award. Why? Because it's freed us from the controller and given us a taste of the future. What's really cool is the hacks and mods that have shown just how awesome the Kinect can be, especially when hooked up to a PC.
Commuter Gadget- Kindle
As a fan of the physical book (I say fan I mean absolute fanatic) I don't quite like the idea of the Kindle, I don't want Ebooks to replace the good old paper book. But where I can see the appeal of the Kindle is commuting and traveling. If you're lugging things to and from work you don't want the weight of a couple of chunky novels, the Kindle puts a library in your hand when you really need a book to pass the time on a long train journey.
Digital Media Service- Twitter
Frankly, I'm bored of Facebook and I think a lot of people are, it's a quick and free way to contact friends and that's as far as it goes for me. I've stopped caring what flavour of crisps people are having for breakfast. But Twitter is the true revolutionary. With Twitter we can contact with people who share our interests meaning we can have fun and make some connections. Plus Tweets tend to be much more intelligent than Posts and the word limit puts a stop to waffle.
Phone Of The Year- HTC Incredible S
I'll be honest, I don't know a Hell of a lot about the Incredible S but for me every HTC smartphone at the moment seems at the top of its game. iPhone 4 will no doubt win the dong but it really shouldn't Android and HTC is a perfect partnership.
Tech Brand of the Year-HTC
Come on they're on fire aren't they?
Work Gadget- ipad 2
Like the kindle, the iPad freaks me out a bit, I wouldn't however say no to one. The work environment gives it a real chance to shine and proves that it's more than a novelty. And by work, I don't just mean academics and journalists; everyone from airline pilots and doctors to construction workers are all adopting the iPad because it's just so damn useful.
So, what gets your vote?
