TomTom Updates it Rider 2nd Edition for Bikers

Bikers on the road must feel rather left out by Sat Nav companies such as TomTom these days, with the more popular series of TomToms being developed just for car owners.

However, now bikers can rejoice for once, with the arrival of the new and updated version of the Rider 2nd Edition. This model incorporates Map Share Technology, which allows users to make corrections to their own maps as well sharing them with others. This is already a common feature present in most TomTom car devices, but is great new feature for Rider. Other TomTom goodies include safety features such as the Help Me! menu as well as TomTom’s latest map guarantee and pre-installed Tele Atlas maps of Western & Eastern Europe.

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a travel junkie, then the TomTom Rider generates some clever statistics to let you show off how many miles have been travelled and on average how fast the journey was done at.

The TomTom Rider 2nd Edition is priced at around £349.99 for the UK/Ireland version and £399.99 for the European version. However, owners of the older models can breathe a sign of relief as many of the new features of this TomTom can be downloaded and used on their older models thanks to a software update that will be available via the TomTom website.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
