Is It Time For The Rise OF Huawei?

Huawei are the largest networking and telecommunications equipment supplier in China and the second-largest supplier of mobile telecommunications infrastructure equipment in the world (at least that's what Wiki says.) The point is, they're not some obscure little smartphone manufacturer, they're one of the most powerful tech companies in the world and getting stronger every day, yet in the UK and Europe, they're relatively unknown, Huawei is not exactly a household name like, oh I don't know say, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG and in recent years HTC. But that could all be about to change.

So far Huawei has done little more than the Pulse and Pulse mini; in my opinion both fantastic little budget Android handsets, but again, not household names like the Desire, the iPhone, the Galaxy S for instance. But continuing their work with Google the Chinese based telecommunications company have just released the world's first 3.2 running Android tablet and depending on how well it is received it could push Huawei into the consciousness of UK consumers and bloggers alike.

The 7-inch MediaPad will have a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera (HD video capable) and will run on a Qualcomm dual-core 1.2-GHz processor and will come out of the box with Flash 10.3, Facebook, Twitter, Let’s Golf, and Documents to Go.

Let's Golf alone is enough to get me excited. Jokes aside, it's a powerful looking tablet but of course it all depends on the price.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
