Are You Addicted to Internet: "Save Brain Clinic" is Your New Rehab

AA is an old thing. In 21st century, people are getting addicted to a bigger and more powerful hallucinogen aka as internet. South Korea, the world's most wired country, has now come up with a solution. The country has started a new "Save Brain Clinic" which will work under the aegis of Gongju National Hospital. Gongju Hospital is a specialized psychiatric institution.

So, if you find yourself unable to get away from your laptop and need to have your internet fix every other minute, then probably you should get yourself checked in at this hospital. The clinic currently provides a treatment program which lasts for five weeks. Under this program, the addicts are given art therapy. They also need to undergo group sessions. If all this sounds like a gimmick to you then you should have a look at one of its patient's stats. The patient, a 16 year old student, used to have gaming sessions as long as 10 hours. So yes, the addiction is real and so are its consequences.

South Korea is taking this new addiction threat pretty seriously. The government has estimated that out of its 48.6 million strong population, 2 million are addicted to internet. The country is also looking to regulate gaming industry to ensure that the teenagers are protected. It has just passed a bill which requires online gaming companies to make certain that their below-16 years of age users do not get to play between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM. Though, the problem is dire, but with this step, the government is assuming the role of dreaded big brother. What do you think, would you want your government to intervene and modify your online behavior. The answer is most certainly going to be in negative.
