I've never much been into sports, in fact I'd go as far as say I loathe them. Perhaps it stems from horrendous P.E sessions in Secondary School, getting picked last in football teams, forgetting my kit and wearing shorts from the lost property basket, that sort of thing, or maybe it's my misconception that football fans are book dodging lager louts. Whatever the reason, this isn't therapy time it's gadget news and if there's one thing that makes athletics exciting, it's not the Olympic Games, it's Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games.
When medals were being fought over in Beijing back in 2008 I was happily tapping away at my DS earning my own Gold Medals with Super Mario. I don't know what you think, but I thought it was a pretty awesome and addictive game.
As London's own games approach it's time to get excited about the next instalment of S&M at the Games (yes, yes I know what their initials spell and I'm not amused.)
London will soon be swarming with Lycra-clad athletes as the thirtieth Summer Olympic Games take over the capital city in 2012. To commemorate the occasion, SEGA and Nintendo have collaborated once more, colliding the universes of Mario and Sonic for the third time. As new events like horse-riding, football and table tennis, the Sega-Nintendo partnership is set to bring us
dream stages and iconic monuments from around London.
And if that's not exiting enough, they'll be a 3DS version (demos are being passed around already and early reviews look promising.)
I've never wanted a 3DS so much before. Along with the DS versions of the game, they'll be a Wii version too and elsewhere in the gadget world, technology is playing a huge part in both organising and commemorating the big event. Check it our post from a few weeks back looking at how London is being digitised for the 2012.
