Android 2.3 with HTC Sense, 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor, 32 GB storage capacity, 1 GB RAM, a 5 megapixel camera at the rear, a 1.3 megapixel one in the front and 7 inch display all powered by a 4000 mAh battery. What is it?
That's right it's the HTC Flyer (tablet) and it's now avaible to pre-order in the UK. HTC have become one of the leading figures in Android running hardware, with smartphones like the Desire truly showing what Google's OS can do in the right hands. But can they transfer the success of their award winning smartphone range to the tablet world?
All we've heard for the past year is 'tablet, tablet, tablet.' But still the iPad seems pretty safe. The choice of Android tablets, just isn't that great at the moment. HTC are a big player and perhaps they're the right ones to fill the Android hole and finally give something for Steve Jobs to worry about and by worry I mean laugh, because right now he probably doesn't even look twice at the release of a new Android tablet since there's been so many rubbish ones.
The wi-fi only version of the HTC Flyer is available from online store Expansys for £479.99 following its initial release in Germany back in February. After the UK the Flyer will, well fly across Europe and experts believe it will do well with Honeycomb putting it above other Android tablets running on outdated systems.
What do you think then? Just another waste of plastic, or is this tablet worth buying?

Stick to the good work! Expect reading far more of your tablets posts in the future. I think it might be as well wonderful if you add “Send to” tool so people can send the articles to their pals.
Ahh, another “also ran” tablet that isn’t the iPad.
Wifi only and the same price as the 32GB iPad2. I think we can file this under “won’t be heard of or remembered in 6 months”.
