So we all thought, including me, that the White iPhone was a gonna, well I'm willing to eat a piece of humble pie, and we can now confirm it will be on sale world wide from tomorrow.
It has become the technology equivalent of Loch Ness. Did it exist ? Were Apple ever going to get it to retail ? Would they just wait for the iPhone 5 ?
It's only taken 10 months, but Apple true its word have come good and the phone will be on sale world wide from tomorrow, from the Apple stores, selected re-sellers, and in 28 countries.
Originally, the plan over at Apple HQ had been to release the white version of the iPhone 4 at the same time as its black counterpart.
Steve Jobs even unveiled both models at the same time. But something went wrong, early test models seemed to shed the white paint when it got too hot, and Apple had to go back to the drawing board. 10 months later they've finally sorted it.
The 16GB model will cost just $199 (£120) in the US, rising to $299 for the 32 GB model, although Apple said details on UK pricing and availability will only be available at the launch.
