There's just no stopping Android at the moment. They've already get some big names behind them, HTC, Samsung, LG, even the US Army. Now Sony are using the OS on their two new tablet devices. The rather boringly named S1 and S2 have just been announced by the tech giants.
Not much is known about the hardware specs of the tablets at the moment but following a recent tech trend of offering two tablets/laptops one with a wacky screen and one with a normal screen (yes those are the technical terms) The S1 will come with a 9.4 inch conventional display whilst the S2 will have dual 5.5 inch displays which fold closed (as you can see in the picture above.)
Software wise we'll be seeing Android Honeycomb alongside some of Sony's own features such as video and music transmission to TVs and stereos via the DLNA wireless streaming standard, as well as PlayStation network interaction and (possibly gaming) say Sony.
With the Playstation Phone out in the open and doing well, could this be a sign of Sony heading towards a Playstation Tablet? It's certainly interesting that Sony have moved away from the Sony Ericsson brand, their usual hardware title. The image of the tablets above gives us a good idea of what they’re planning, but they have warned that the design could change before release.
Basically it seems they're just letting the world (and the stock market) know they've got two Android tablets on the way. Whether the S1 and S2 will remain the S1 and S2 and what will be inside them is unknown at the moment, but let's hope they do focus on the Playstation/tablet interaction and build hardware which will accommodate this. We’ll keep our eyes on the story.

no, they have to focus on the PSN being down than making a Playstation Tablet that can’t operate without the PSN!
