If it had been your lifelong mission to find out whether Macs were actually cooler than PCs, then here is something for you that can cheer you up. Well, actually that depends whether you yourself are a PC or Mac. A new survey confirmed this finding and it also showed that these species do actually exist. PC users exhibit strong personality traits which differ significantly from the traits shown by Macs.
This survey, conducted by Hunch, asked its users to self-identify themselves as Macs or PC. After this self-identification, they were asked certain questions regarding their lifestyle choices. However, the survey debunked the idea that PC users are uptight badly-constructed suit wearing older citizen, well, at least the badly-stitched suit part. PC users are actually more likely to dress up as TV's Mac Justin Long, in jeans and casual clothes, while the real Mac people tend to be ahem, more hipster in their dressing.
PC users confirmed the stereotype of them being older than typical Mac users, who also tend to have more liberal leaning. Mac users are also more likely to hold minimum four years of formal college education. PC users are more likely than Mac users to be mathematically inclined. Oh, Long live the Spreadsheets! Again, the hipster reputation of Mac is confirmed when its users claim to be more verbal aptitude.
Mac users are also more prone to use independent establishments over big box stores. Your average Mac user will pick San Pellegrino Limonata over Pepsi, the drink favored by PC users. Mac will also pick bistro-type fries over McDonald's fries. See, Macs are so anti-establishment. Oh, never mind that Grande Starbucks in their hand. And guess, Mac users are not going to be happy with Greenpeace's new report.
While Mac people seem to be always ready for throwing a party, they also are equally eager to form a line in front of an Apple Store. 43 percent of Mac users identified themselves as early adopters of new technology. Wow, guess those skinny jeans have really deep pockets. You can head over to Hunch website for complete results. So let us know, if you fit the Mac vs. PC stereotype.
