iPhone 5 To Come With 8MP Camera & September Launch ?

Apple's successor to the iPhone 4 is some months away or even further if you believe some analysts, but Ming-Chi Kuo of Concord Securities reckons the new iPhone 5 will come with a 8 megapixel and will go into production in September.

Kuo has done some checks with supply chain sources which has led him to suggest that the next handset from Apple will not feature an all-new-design, but rather only “slight modifications” from the iPhone 4. A iPhone 4S if you will, and the major changes will come from the software side with iOS 5.

Kuo reckons that Apple will go for a major upgrade of the processing power and will include the same A5 processor already found in the iPad 2, as well as a significantly improved 8 megapixel rear camera.

Kuo has even go as far a suggesting that the new handset will go into trial production in August and mass production in September.

Kuo expects a more dramatic hardware change to the iPhone in 2012 when the presumed sixth-generation model will arrive.

In January, Kuo correctly claimed that Apple’s iPad 2 would feature the same 1024 x768 display as the first-generation iPad.

Kuo also said in March that Apple was set to begin production of the white iPhone 4 and ship the device in April. Last week, numerous reports confirmed that Apple will make the white iPhone 4 available for sale in the “next few weeks.”

So the oracle has spoken, and to be honest it all sounds rather likely, who knows whether his crystal ball is accurate, but we’ve got a good feeling about Kuo and his investigative work, let just hope that he’s on the money, as ever only time will tell.
