President Barack Obama has slammed the tech at the White House as being 30 years old when he was recorded off the record at a fundraiser in Chicago.
The most powerful man in the world was expecting to find the White House full of amazing tech, fancy buttons and hidden screens, but was left disappointed.
“I always thought I was gonna have, like, really cool phones and stuff,” complained Obama at a fund-raising event in his home town of Chicago. “We can’t get our phones to work.”
The Leader of the Free World's frank protests that computing at the U.S. government was "30 years behind" the current standard were caught on tape after a staff member forgot to turn off his microphone at the speech.
“Come on, guys. I’m the President of the United States!" lamented an exasperated Obama. "Where’s the fancy buttons and stuff and the big screen comes up? It doesn’t happen.”
According to the President, the situation isn't much better at his military and intelligence agencies either, “It’s true in the Pentagon. It’s true in the agencies. It’s true in the Department of Homeland Security,”
After all, this came just over two months ago he was sitting down to dinner with Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and former Google Chief Exec Eric Schmidt - surely they could sort him out with something shiny and new, but lets just hope that it's just the White House and not the same situation across the government.
Obama does have some tech, and admitted he used a high security Blackberry and an iPad, but not the new one, were sure Steve will sort him out after seeing that the tech in the White House just isn’t up to scratch.
