The Gadget Show kicks off to the public from today and the one and only piece of exclusive tech that probably hasn’t been seen by anyone was the HTC Sensation - which is their new high-end dual core smartphone.
We were on hand to have it demonstrated by the chaps from HTC, featuring a laptop spec dual-core processor, the HTC Sensation is the fastest phone around.
Interestingly the HTC only comes with a laughable 4GB on board storage, but are concerns were abaited slightly as the man from HTC said you get a 8GB card with the phone - so bumping it up to 12GB - but you'll have to buy at least another card at some point.
On the back of the phone you can expect to find a very decent 8-mega-pixel camera which take stunning stills and can capture 1080p videos. The front camera is of course a lot less on the mega-pixel front, clocking it at 1.3 mega-pixels.
The 4.3-inch touch-screen display is bright and clear, and features a 16:9 aspect ratio – making it perfect for watching films on the go. With all this power and a gorgeous screen, however, we can’t help but be a little concerned about the battery life – and that’s something that wasn’t up for discussion during the demo.
The HTC Sensation is expected to launch in May in partnership with Vodafone, but pricing was not discussed – however, you can likely expect it to hit the wrong side of £500 for a SIM-free model.
The Sensation runs Android 2.3 ‘Gingerbread’ under the hood – Google’s latest smartphone platform variant – and includes HTC Sense UI 3.0, which adds a new unlock screen and 3D animations to the interface.
