Can Acer Kill The iPad 2 With Its New Range Of Android and Windows Tablets?

If the iPad isn't for you then Acer's latest batch of Android tablets may be just what you are looking for. Here's a look at their two latest devices. I've kept it simple and cut out the waffle. No Apple hating/ blind Android love here! Just check out the stats and make your own mind up; Acer or Apple? If either of the tablets takes your fancy, they'll be available at Amazon, Comet, John Lewis, HMV and Harrods.

Iconia Tab A100

Acer will be also releasing a Windows 7 version of the A500,the W500.You're spoilt for choice.
*Note that if you hold on for a few more months after the release date Acer is promising 3G versions of the devices at some point in the future.

So what do you think? Have any of these tablets get the power to beat the iPad or are they just standard, boring Android tablets. I must admit that there's nothing particularly eye catching about them. With tablets, glassesless 3D and super-fast 3G/4G browsing (at a reasonable cost) is the future. Until then I'll keep my smartphone and good old laptop.

In a word, No. It’snot just about specs or price, it’s also advertising, word of mouth, ease of use, available apps, and design. Acer will be lucky to get 5% of the iPad sales.

Acer will get more money back simply by investing what it spent on developing this product on apple shares .

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
