If all goes well, then we may get to lay our hands on Sony NGP in November this year. Just a couple of days back, there was a leak which fuelled the rumours about the November release of the game console. The latest news about the console pertains to the game titles available for it. The company is now striving to take a leap at digital distribution of the games.
According to a statement released by Sony, the company will launch the digital versions of all the games from the day one itself. In fact, it is quite possible that some of the games may not be available in the physical format at all.
This certainly is a great news for the gamers who are do not want to waste their precious time arranging and re-arranging their game discs collection. Hey, now you have more time for getting your levels up!
The latest move may also benefit game developers as they can now curtail their costs by opting for digital download version only. However, currently most of the games will also be available on flash card, which will be distributed via retail stores. Sony, though, recommended the purchase of flash cards instead of downloading the game.
Arguably, for heavier and graphically intense games, flash card game purchase is more desirable. This time over, the company has ditched its tried and tested UMD format. Sony is likely to provide more details about NGP during E3 2011 and since, we expect the rumour mills to work full time, keep watching this space for getting more information.
