Xperia Play Set To Come With 6 Free Games

Just in case you needed any more of a reason to get hold of the Xperia Play when it hits stores on March 31st Sony Ericsson has announced that the Android running smartphone will come with a whopping 6 games built into it.

There's something for everyone with titles like Bruce Lee Dragon Warriors, Tetris, Star Battalion, Crash Bandicoot, FIFA 10 and The Sims 3 all ready to rock in a few weeks.

And once you get bored of the pre-installed games, there will be another 50 games available for download via the PlayStation Suite on top of whatever the Android Market has on offer.

It's a reassuring sign that Sony aren't skimping on the Play aspect of the phone. From what we've seen so far this is a phone built for gaming from the ground up; more of a games console that can make calls than a smartphone that can play games.

But with the 3DS on the way, will the Xperia have a target audience or will all the gamers be happily bashing away on their new Nintendo toys?

The likes of Angry Birds has proven that there is a huge demand for games-on-the-go.  The integration of gaming and smartphone features is something we will be seeing a lot more of in the coming years but maybe it's too earlier for Sony Ericsson?  What do you think?
