That’s right, the invites have officially been sent for a media event in San Francisco where Apple will finally unveil after months of media speculation the all-new iPad 2 – the invites as you can see mimic the look of a iPad in the right corner.
The reported features of the second-generation tablet will be a slimmer and lighter build, more RAM, a snappier processor, front- and rear-facing cameras, and a less-reflective screen - which would be much appreciated by those of us who use our iPads primarily for Kindle.
We’ll give you the latest news when the conference takes place at 10.00am PST on March 2 at the Yuerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco - right next door to GDC 2011.
Stay tuned.

I’m a big Apple fan and have owned the 1st Gen iPad since the release day but if the only upgrades to the 2nd Gen iPad is it’ll be slightly thinner, faster, more ram, less reflective screen and 2 cameras then I’ll not be bothering to upgrade.
The cameras will probably be 0.3MP on the front and less than 1.0MP on the back like the Touch.
Touche Self Silent. Im with you on that – more than happy with the current generation ! But I expect one surprise at least – so don’t judge until we know 100% what they have planned – it’s more a iPadS than a iPad 2.
Touche Self Silent – but expect at least one surprise – I won’t be upgrading that’s for sure.
