Recently, Apple tightened its grip over in-app purchases and then rejected Sony's e-Reader app for iPad. Seems like, Sony is not going to take it lying down. The company has hinted that it might pull its music from iTunes in retaliation. Sony alluded to the possibility while launching its Music Unlimited service in Australia. Sony also said that it hopes that streaming subscription product would be able to take on iTunes by offering an alternative approach.
Sony Computer Entertainment's CEO, Michal Ephraim did not mince the words and claimed, "Publishers are being held ransom by Apple and they are looking for other delivery systems." Now, that's some tough talk! Sony Games had already made it clear that it will not be offering its games on iOS devices. Although, it will go ahead and launch a PlayStation Suite game Store for Android platform. Apple is well accustomed of getting its way, so it would be interesting to see how this war of titans pans out. Keep watching this space.
