Recently BBC had launched an iPad App, BBC iPlayer. Now, the Android version of the App is up for grabs. Just a couple of days back, we had heard about the company's plans to launch the app on Android platform and now the rumor has turned into reality. The App will make it possible to stream TV and radio right to your smartphones and tablets. You can download the app from Android Market. You will need to have Android 2.2 or higher for running this app.

The App will not only let you watch live TV, but you will also have access to up to seven days of previous programs broadcast on the BBC. And of course, you can use it to listen to radio. But the app does not provide any download option. You can browse video-on-demand suggestions and can search using various filters such as channels or airing dates. Although the app is very much like its iOS version, but the Android version lacks HQ option, making the playback look a bit grainy on bigger screens. Anyways, the app is available for free, so, go ahead and give it a try.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
