Greenpoison Releases Untethered iPhone Jailbreak For IOS 4.2.1

Once there were two options for iPhone users: stick with Apple's totalitarian rules and severely restrict what apps you can run on a device you've bought with your hard earned cash, or JailBreak your iPhone and carry your PC everywhere with you in case you need to reboot your handset.

But now there is another way courtesy of legendary hacker Greenpoison who has just released an untethered for Mac and Windows.

Created for IOS 4.2.1, the jailbreak is different from ones we’ve seen before as it no longer requires you to connect your iPhone to your computer to start it up again after reboot.

Now that you device isn't bricked each time it runs out of battery there is even more of a reason to go down the JailBreak road. But remember it may be legal now but it still comes with the risk of permanently bricking your phone and you can kiss your warranty goodbye too.

But until Steve opens his ears to the multiple people who warn him his system is too closed there is a fourth option- the much more open Android OS.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
