Google has officially launched 3.0 version of its Android operating system. And looks like Motorola Xoom has got the honor of being the flagship Honeycomb tablet as the internet search giant used it to show the working dynamics of the latest rendition of the OS. The event was streamed live on YouTube.
As expected, Honeycomb does seem to be different from the handset versions of Android. The operating system has been designed to support superior graphics and 2D hardware acceleration. It is also capable of supporting 3D apps, multitasking and multitouch. Apart from this, it also has various features to help you in customizing your photos.
Xoom will be offering an unadulterated Honeycomb experience. Since the operating system is open source and the tablet makers are free to add their own layers to the OS, it would be interesting to see the different variations of the OS. Along with the introduction of Honeycomb, Google also launched its App MarketPlace website.
