BlackBerry PlayBook Trashed by Analyst, Proclaimed 'Dead on Arrival'

BlackBerry PlayBook is one of the highly anticipated tablets but the poor tab has got really bad review from Wedge Partners. Theresearch firm has issued a note to its clients stating that RIM's latest offering is 'dead on arrival.' Not the kind of review we were expecting! The tablet is set to hit the market next month and is getting mixed appraisal. There are quite a few analysts who believe that the tablet will be well received by its target 'enterprise market'. Yet, others are quite unforgiving. Wedge Partners' Brian Blair said, "The BlackBerry PlayBook will be sharply inferior to other tablets on the market and consumers won't buy it."

Blair has also pointed that the tablet needs to be tethered to a BlackBerry smartphone in order to access contact, calendar and email. According to Blair, this feature is the 'biggest disappointment' surrounding the tablet. He has also warned that the tablet may end up costing RIM "hundreds of millions of dollars". Well, this scathing research note is capable of scaring away a couple of weak-hearted would-be PlayBook buyers. But, let's wait for some hands-on tech reviews of the tablet before writing it off completely.
