It's the idea that everyone had, but nobody was stupid enough to implement; until now that is.
For spies and the exceptionally paranoid, the Biometric wallet by Dunhill will check the user’s fingerprint before opening. Obviously that would be pointless if we were talking about a plain old leather-wallet which could be torn open with a knife.
No, this is no bovine bank-card holder, it's made of carbon fibre which according to its creators “will resist all but the most concerted effort to open it.”
Along with its strength and fingerprint scanner, the wallet comes with yet another security feature to stop those pesky thieves getting hold of your subway card and stealing your free foot-long, the wallet sounds an alarm when it’s stolen.
How does the wallet know when it is being stolen you ask? Well all this is very ingenious (sort of) the wallet is linked to the owner’s mobile phone via Bluetooth and the alarm goes off whenever the it is separated from the owner’s mobile phone by more than five meters.
This is actually a pretty cool idea.
Except- the fingerprint scanner is stupid, biometric scanning is unreliable, five meters mean if you leave your wallet in your living room and go to make a cup of tea- "WAHHH WAHH WAHHH WAHH!"
And, let's not forget it also costs $825.

Not the best or worst of ideas,
How often has your cell phone battery gone dead, you turn off your blue-tooth like when you go onto an airplane, someone steals your phone, and your stuck holding your wallet going off… There are a number of things that could also be a down side to this.
In reality, if someone is going to hold you at gun/knife point, your going to swipe your finger rather than getting hurt. This may lead to more aggressive thefts than a simple pickpocket.
On a positive note, it you have kids that like to go into your wallet, questionable roommates/dorm mates, or just want to hide things from your loved ones (Or for someone cheating on their relationship) you can now have a little more protection of your privacy. Even for those forgetful people that loose things, as long as you have our phone you can simply walk out of the room to find your wallet.
The idea isn’t bad, just needs to be a little tweaked on some of the lose ends, wait until the price comes down to the $200 or cheaper mark before even considering to buy one of these things.
One other unanswered question, what happens when the battery dies, does it auto unlock or are you stuck without access to your own cards, or do you have to charge it via micro usb? (Which if linked to the biometric scanner software may then lead to hacking to enter the wallet rather than physical force)
