Facebook May launch Two Smartphones at MWC

We had been hearing about Facebook for some time now. And a new report slash rumor claims that the social networking site isactually going to put the plan in motion at Mobile World Congress next month. For a while, let's just ignore Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg's assertion that they are not working on branded cell phones.

Report has claimed that HTC would be manufacturing the new phones and the phones would be colored and branded like Facebook website. The phones would run a customized version of Google's Android mobile OS.

Yet another source claims to have even juicier information about Facebook phone. The phone may provide features such as an Always-on GPS system and would provide automatic "check-ins". Yep, that sounds in line with Facebook practice of thrusting its "openness" philosophy onto its users. Apparently, the phone will also have very little on-board storage as it will rely on cloud concept. All your media, contacts and data will be stored on the cloud. No word about the terms and conditions for the security of such data. The phone will also have a ticker style message notification system. After a ton of such specific information, we really are looking forward to MWC.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
