2010 may have been labeled the year of tablets, but in reality, it was more a year of the tablet announcements. Many of the tabletsannounced never made it to the market, but a few companies have now started delivering what they had promised last year. August last year, HP had promised to use its webOS for a tablet and had promised to launch the tablet by early 2011. And now some insiders are reporting that the company has instructed Inventec to start producing a webOS slate. The slate is expected to start shipping in March.
Although, the exact variant of the tablet is not known but seems like that the company is working on its 'Topaz' slate. On the other hand, yet another source has claimed that the company has pushed back the release date for its another webOS tablet Opal. The specs of these tablets are not confirmed yet but we can assume that Topaz will give us a fair idea of webOS as a tablet operating system. C'mon HP, we are waiting so do not disappoint us.
