With the release of the iPad 2 expected shortly, it was no surprise that a flurry of tablet devices were showcased at the CES last week to beat the iPad 2 off its tracks.
One which caught everyone's interest was the new range of tablets from ASUS, which we presumed would be running on Android's latest operating system, 3.0 however it has been confirmed that these tablets will only be running on Android 2.3.
With competition getting that even more cut throat both in the tablet and smartphone markets with the likes of Apple paving the way, it is rather disappointing to hear that the new Asus tablets will running on 2.3 rather 3.0.
Hopefully once the tablets are launched we could expect some sort of update to 3.0, however if that is not the case then Asus will certainly have a fight on their hands.

All android tablets could be completely unworkable for a large amount of employees and students. Unless they allow proxy settings to be easily entered/enabled they will not be able to use the web through their employee or University. Google will really need to sort this out.
