Review

The TomTom ONE is the best selling sat nav in the world, thats because it comes with the award-winning software and is great value for money. The new models will continue this legacy as they use the SiRFStar III GPS chipset and a 266MHz processor. Maps are stored on an SD card and it comes with a Bluetooth 2.0 adaptor to communicate with a mobile-phone users.
It does have its down sides though, the Bluetooth will allow data transmission and will not allow voice calls. Also compared to the old model it has a slower processor and lacks a headphone socket. Despite the cons my preferance is the new model over the old TomTom One, as the TomTom ONE Regional model goes for the same price as the old TomTom ONE.

Technical spec:

  • Highly sensitive SiRFstarIII™ GPS chipset
  • 32MB RAM
  • CPU 266 MHz
  • 3.5 inch full TFT colour LCD touchscreen (320 x 240 pixels, 64.000 colors)
  • Internal Litium-Ion battery (2 hours operation)
  • 96 x 82 x 25 mm, 174 grams
  • Operating temperature: -10 °C to +55 °C

  • Looks good! Perhaps small enough to be vent mounted rather than having to have an obvious suction cup.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
