Since iPad 2 seems to be just round the corner, now we are having a fresh wave of rumors regarding its features and design.According to the latest unconfirmed reports, iPad2 may lose its home button since the introduction of multitouch gesture will render the button more or less redundant. So now, you will have to use multitouch gestures for launching the app switcher and for reaching the home screen.
Apparently, this change will not be limited to iPad only. iPhone is also likely to go through the same metamorphosis. Since inner sources have revealed that such design is already being tested inside the mighty walls of Apple HQ, we may get to see home-less, I mean, home-button less iPad and iPhone in the next iteration. Apple may also add its photo application, Photo Booth, to the next iPad, along with other iLife apps. Keep watching this space for more news about the upcoming iPad.

Since the iPad2 is already in production I doubt that anything “being tested inside the mighty walls of Apple HQ” would be on it. Things don’t make it to production until testing is complete.
