Announced back in December by LG, the LG Optimus 2X is looking to be one of the most powerful android smartphones to kick off 2011. Well, it seems we haven't had to wait long to find out the pricing of the smartphone, as the smartphone has appeared for pre-order on one online retailer.
The LG Optimus 2X has appeared online for pre-order available for £499.99 for the unlocked handset. The website where you can pre-order the phone is also giving a 'due date' for the device which is apparently February 21st (Which is unfortunate because we were hoping for a January release after last month ‘mistake’ of saying the device will debut next month in Europe.)
Naturally this price tag is for an unlocked device, so be sure to expect cheaper prices popping up just before the official release (which will be soon if the pre-order website is anything to go by) once the contractors reveal their plans for the device.
If you haven't yet heard about the LG Optimus 2X, the specs for the device include their dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor which will hopefully make this device a powerhouse, a 4-inch WVGA display, 8GB of internal storage (with an additional 32GB of storage obtainable though a microSD slot), a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera, and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
The device is also set to be running Android 2.2 Froyo straight away, but LG have mentioned that Google's latest mobile OS version - Android 2.3 Gingerbread - will be an available update shortly after the release.
