Motorola's Xoom tablet has been crowned as the most promising gadget at Consumers Electronics Show and we believe that it is a well deserved win for this Android running 4G tablet. However, our biggest qualm about the tablet is that it does not have Wi-Fi only version. The tablet is first expected to be launched on 3G network and will be later ported to 4G. However, if you do not like to be tied down by monthly data contracts then probably you need to wait a little more. It seems like that eventually Motorola would be launching a Wi-Fi variant of the tablet and the launch date will likely be in the month of April.
The specs for the Wi-Fi tablet will be similar to the recently announced model. The tablet will run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb and will have a spacious 10.1 inch display. It will have dual core 1GHz processor under its hood. The tablet will also feature dual camera where the rear camera will have 5MP resolution. It will also be capable of recording HD videos at 720p resolution. The front camera will feature 2MP resolution. The company has not provided any details about the pricing though.
